Welcome to our community centre website. The purpose of this site is to let people who live in the local community know what goes on at the centre, and what is available for them to participate in. As a self funding community centre we really need the support of the local community.

Function Suites

We have two function suites, each with their own private bar and stage area. The larger (Elbrow Suite) can hold 200 people for a function, and is typically used for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays as well as concerts. The smaller (Wessex Suite) holds 120, and is more cosy and intimate than the Elbrow, and is used for wedding receptions, quiz nights, birthday parties etc. The Elbrow Suite has a fully working stage with hemp lines, curtains and lighting grid.

Check Suite Availability and our Special Offers page.

The Lounge Bar can also be hired for private functions, and is typically used for funeral receptions, christening receptions as well as corporate events.
We also have a large field adjacent to the premises which can be hired in the summer - typically for private parties, fetes and car boot sales.

Meetings & Activities

We also offer a range of activity rooms suitable for a range of activities - the larger ones (Avon, Whittucks, Ridgeway) are popular for physical activities such as keep fit, Salsa and yoga - as well as larger corporate meetings and training; while the smaller rooms (Gloucester, Wesley, Somerset) are popular for small meetings, seated activities such as lace making, chess, card crafts etc.
The Whittiucks and Ridgeway rooms have a hearing loop installed.

Trustees Wanted
We are in need of two Trustees to help oversea the management of the Community Centre.

You would need to attend a monthly Trustees meeting (1st Monday of the month, 8pm), and would be asked to undertake some addtional work taking less than 2-3 hours per month.

This can be very interesting and rewarding voluntary work, can be useful for CVs and work applications.
Why Here? Easy access to the building, large car park, secure building with extensive CCTV, friendly staff and real value for money; and reasonable bar prices.
Membership Support your community centre with 'Annual membership' which runs from 1st April and is only £10. Not only that, but you can then enjoy the Lounge Bar (and members prices) at any time. For more information on any aspect of the centre, either come into the office; 9am-5pm Weekdays or 7:30-10pm evenings; drop us an email, or phone on:
0117 9674439 and speak to Sheena.
